Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This policy explains what ogimagechecker.com ("we", "the site") collects when you use the OG Image Checker, the OG Image Generator and the free API. The short version: no accounts, no tracking scripts, no newsletters, and nothing that identifies you.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask you to register, log in, or provide an email address.
- We do not run third-party analytics or advertising scripts (this may change if advertising is introduced — see "Changes" below).
- We do not collect or store the images you create with the generator — generation happens entirely in your browser.
What is stored when you check a URL
When you submit a URL to the checker, we fetch that page from our server (browsers cannot fetch third-party pages directly). We then store a minimal, anonymous record:
- The hostname of the URL you checked (e.g.
example.com) and the URL path, with the result score and timestamp. This powers the "recently checked" list and the total counter. - Rate-limiting keys. To prevent abuse, we store a cryptographic hash of your IP address combined with the current minute. The hash cannot be reversed to an IP address, and rows older than a few minutes are deleted automatically.
We deliberately do not store query strings or fragments of the URLs you check, and we do not store your IP address in a form that could identify you.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages and to protect against abuse. That processing is governed byCloudflare's privacy policy.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. If display advertising is introduced at some point, third-party ad partners may set cookies; this page and the notice on the site will be updated before that happens.
Data retention
Check records (hostname + score + timestamp) are kept to power the counters and the recent list and are periodically pruned. Rate-limit hashes expire within minutes.
Children
The site is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK).
Changes to this policy
If the site's data practices change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above revised.
